Service Medal 1939-45 Ribbon: Khaki with narrow red edge stripes, a dark blue edge to the wearer's right and a light blue edge to his left.
Instituted: 1949. Awarded: To members of the Australian Armed Forces, Merchant Navy and civilians serving in operational areas. Personnel were also eligible for the award of the British Campaign Stars, Defence Medal and War Medal 1939-45; depending on their service. |
